What is Sibutros 15 by Pharmacom Labs?
Sibutros 15 is an appetite suppressant from Pharmacom Labs containing sibutramine, 15 mg per pill, 100 pills per pack. Sibutramine was once sold as a prescription weight-loss drug under the names Meridia and Reductil. It was withdrawn from the US and European markets in 2010, after a large study found a higher rate of non-fatal heart attacks and strokes in overweight patients who already had cardiovascular disease. Anyone considering it should know that history from the start.
Pharmacologically, sibutramine is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is broken down in the liver into two active metabolites, which do most of the work. By keeping more serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain's appetite centers, it makes a person feel full sooner and stay satisfied longer.
How does Sibutros 15 work?
Unlike stimulant fat burners, sibutramine does not mainly push the metabolism. Its main effect is on eating behavior:
- meals end sooner because satiety arrives earlier;
- snacking and cravings between meals decrease;
- it becomes easier to keep a calorie deficit for weeks at a time;
- energy expenditure rises slightly through a mild thermogenic effect.
In clinical trials, patients on sibutramine combined with diet lost more weight than those on diet alone, although part of that was regained after stopping. Physique athletes sometimes turn to it in a cutting phase when hunger, rather than metabolism, is what breaks the diet.
How is it taken?
When sibutramine was in medical use, the standard starting dose was 10 mg once daily in the morning, raised to 15 mg only if weight loss was insufficient after the first weeks; 15 mg was the maximum daily dose. Treatment was combined with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise and reviewed regularly, and stopped if it did not produce meaningful results. With 15 mg tablets, Sibutros 15 matches the upper end of that range, so it is not a starting strength.
Blood pressure and pulse should be measured before and during use. The dose and the duration must be agreed with a qualified medical professional, who will consider heart health first.
Side effects and contraindications
The most common effects are dry mouth, constipation, insomnia, headache, sweating and a changed sense of taste. Sibutramine raises heart rate and blood pressure in many users, which is the reason for its cardiovascular risk. Anxiety, irritability and palpitations can occur. Combined with antidepressants, migraine drugs of the triptan type, MAO inhibitors or other serotonergic drugs, it can cause serotonin syndrome.
It must not be used by people with coronary heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, a history of stroke, poorly controlled high blood pressure, eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Combining it with clenbuterol, ephedrine or other stimulants increases the strain on the heart.
