What is Cypoprime by Eminence Labs?
In the United States, testosterone cypionate is the form of testosterone that doctors prescribe most often; the best-known brand, Depo-Testosterone, is cypionate dissolved in cottonseed oil. Cypoprime is the version of this ester made by Eminence Labs, supplied in 10 ampoules with 250 mg of testosterone cypionate per milliliter.
The cypionate (cyclopentylpropionate) ester is an eight-carbon group attached to the testosterone molecule. It makes the hormone soluble in oil and slows its escape from the muscle after an injection, so a single shot keeps blood levels raised for about a week before they taper off. Among the common testosterone esters it ranks with enanthate as a long-acting option; only undecanoate lasts much longer.
What does Cypoprime do?
Once the ester is cleaved off in the body, Cypoprime works exactly like the testosterone the testes produce, only at the level the user chooses. Effects commonly reported in sport include:
- more muscle mass and strength through increased protein synthesis;
- faster recovery after training and less soreness;
- higher red blood cell count and better endurance;
- a boost in libido, confidence and general energy.
In medicine the same ester is used to treat men whose bodies make too little testosterone.
How Cypoprime is used
The US prescribing information for testosterone cypionate in hypogonadism covers 50 to 400 mg every two to four weeks, while many clinics now prefer smaller weekly injections for steadier levels. In bodybuilding, reported amounts are higher, usually 300 to 500 mg per week for ten to twelve weeks, often divided into two injections. Users who stop a cycle typically wait about two weeks after the last shot before starting post-cycle therapy, since the long ester takes time to clear.
Use Cypoprime only under a plan agreed with a qualified medical professional, who decides the dose and course length and checks hormone levels and blood counts along the way.
Side effects
Testosterone cypionate converts partly to estradiol and partly to dihydrotestosterone, and most side effects follow from that. Water retention, sore or swollen breast tissue, acne, oily skin and hair loss in genetically susceptible men are common at higher doses. Blood pressure and hematocrit can rise, and HDL cholesterol may fall. While it is used, the body's own testosterone and sperm production decline, which can cause smaller testicles and temporary infertility.
Women, anyone under 18 and men with prostate or breast cancer, untreated sleep apnea or serious heart disease should not use it.
