What is Oxymetholone by Dragon Pharma?

Dragon Pharma sells this product simply under the name of its active ingredient: Oxymetholone. The tablets contain 50 mg each, the same strength as the classic US medicine Anadrol-50, and the package is a larger one of 100 pills. Oxymetholone is an oral anabolic-androgenic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone and modified with a 17-alpha methyl group, so it works when swallowed but places a real load on the liver.

It is often compared with methandienone, the other well-known oral bulking steroid. Both act fast and both cause water retention, but oxymetholone is generally considered stronger per tablet, harsher on the body, and different in mechanism: it does not aromatize, while methandienone does. Its estrogen-like effects are attributed to direct action of the molecule itself.

Effects

The compound increases protein synthesis, drives glycogen and fluid into muscle tissue and stimulates the production of red blood cells through the kidney hormone erythropoietin. As with all wet compounds, part of the gain is lost again once the course ends and fluid balance returns to normal.

Commonly reported daily amounts are 25 to 100 mg, most often 50 mg, for four to six weeks, frequently as the opening part of a cycle built on injectable compounds. Those who follow medical supervision usually go through a few checks:

1. Blood tests before the start: liver enzymes, lipids, blood count and hormone levels.
2. Repeat tests during the course, with particular attention to hematocrit and blood pressure.
