What is Testoheal Gel (Testogel) by Healing Pharma?
Not everyone who needs testosterone wants to inject it. Testoheal Gel (Testogel) from Healing Pharma is a transdermal alternative: a testosterone gel packed in individual sachets, with 14 sachets in each box, meant to be rubbed into the skin once daily.
The gel contains plain testosterone rather than an esterified form such as enanthate or cypionate. Esters exist to slow the release of an injected hormone; a gel does not need them, because the skin itself releases the hormone slowly. A thin layer is spread over a large area, the alcohol base dries within minutes, and testosterone is absorbed into the skin and then into the blood over the next 24 hours.
Gel or injection: what are the differences?
- Levels: a daily gel gives a flatter testosterone curve than injections every week or two.
- Strength: gels raise testosterone within or slightly above the normal range, while injections can reach much higher levels.
- Convenience: no needles and no injection-site pain, but the gel has to be applied every day.
- Control: stopping the gel lowers levels within days, while long esters stay in the body for weeks.
- Contact: gel residue on the skin can pass to a partner or child, which does not happen with injections.
Medically, Testoheal Gel (Testogel) belongs to testosterone replacement for men with confirmed low testosterone, where it can improve libido, energy, mood, muscle mass and bone density. Bodybuilders use this kind of gel mainly for maintenance at normal levels between cycles, not for building mass.
Application and dosing
The contents of one sachet are applied each morning to clean, dry skin of the shoulders and upper arms or another area named in the leaflet, and allowed to dry before clothing covers it. Hands must be washed right away. Showering or swimming should be postponed for several hours so the hormone has time to be absorbed. In replacement therapy, starting amounts of about 50 mg testosterone daily are usual for gels, with later changes based on blood tests; the strength per sachet is stated on the packaging and must be read before planning a dose. One box covers 14 days at one sachet per day.
All of this has to be agreed with a qualified medical professional, who sets the dose and duration and checks blood values such as testosterone, hematocrit and PSA.
Side effects and contraindications
Skin irritation at the application site is the most frequent complaint. Others include acne, headache, raised hematocrit, higher blood pressure, mood changes, breast swelling or tenderness and, with long use, shrinking of the testes and lower sperm production, since outside testosterone suppresses the body's own. Sleep apnea can worsen. The gel must not be used by men with prostate or breast cancer, by women, especially when pregnant, or by children, and treated skin should be kept away from them.
